Starting out with quarters and space - 01/26/2026
Working from home is great because I get to experiment with HTML code for my little furry blog site AND get paid for it.. Holy moly! That's some soggy paws for "the company" I work for!...
Anywho, Thinking about how I want to present this blog and I my gut instinct is that I just want this to be a little thought blotcher containing various topics and ideas that I just find fun to talk about.
This past week, I became pretty fixated on the Asteroids cabinet down at my local arcade. It's an Atari released cabinet that debuted on arcade carpets in 1979 and utilizes vector graphics to draw images. As far as I know there's a TON of math that goes into it, and more math, and MORE MATH.... I don't know. Maybe it isn't all that complicated but I remember struggling to wrap my head around it when I was first introduced to the concept.
What I find interesting about it is the that the control panel utilizes only buttons for movement, attacks, and motion. Two buttons on the left for clockwise and counter clockwise rotation of your ship, two buttons on the right for thrust and blaster use, and one right in the bottom center of those for which activates your "Hyperspace" function. Here's a little photo down below of the control panel so you can see what I'm talking about. Shared via gamesdatabase.org
The goal is blast the incoming asteroids sporadically floating around the stage while you also navigate working to avoid them. It makes for a really fun two task kind of setting for your brain! The highest score I've ever seen logged on it is 68,740 by DJM. I'm not sure who you are DJM but you should know I'm hyperspacing after you >:3.... Well, slowly because learning new tactics and strategies for this game has made me somehow worse at it. But that feels like a normal thing to happen. I'm sure I'll get better over time. Highest score I've gotten was about 11,000 so there is a long galactic journey ahead of us.
Until the next entry!

Abolish ICE - 01/29/2026
There isn't much else I need to give on the subject. This kind of thing was never meant to be apart of the blog. It is now though and I feel like we are now burdened with the responsibility that this non sensical tyrannous agency doesn't hurt anybody else. Make sure to call your senator and let them know not to support any bill that increases or funds DHS and the ICE agency itself. Not sure if this'll reach anyone but it's worth putting out there.

My Con Experience and Sunny's Impact - 02/02/2026
Being able to experience conventions with suit and without one has allowed me to appreciate what it's like to wear my guy around for 5 days straight in a space where I can exist as this character that I consider to be an extension of myself. It feels rewarding and it feels as there's an ability to view the world from a lens that views the whimsical nature of the world and though I do believe that I achieve that by also existing as a human, wearing my guy around in a space where everyone else is expressing themselves through the same medium feels notably special. It allows just for a moment, to exist on a different plane or in a different timeline, even. It gives me the oppurtunity to be share joy with others in a space that encourages acceptance, generosity, kindness, humor, and in some cases, vulnerability.
I'm glad to have two different con experiences and enjoy them all the same. One with suit and one without. While both of them were distinctly different, the fundamental parts of my experience were all the same. This place is loving and kind and wants to know who you are and what you offer. It cares to have those parts of you shared with.
I started eyeballing Sunny March of 2025... But, I was very adament on wanting my first fursuit to be one that I make myself. I had a lot of pride in that and every single time I saw Sunny up on the dealer's den website, I'd firmly tell myself "not happening... we're making our own." and promptly close the window. When August came around, I was VERY surprised to see him still up and available on the website. How could someone have not taken him yet? His colors mesh so well together and his joyous expression was so radiant that I thought for sure he would've been scooped up by then... Anyways, I still chose to give him no mind despite the seller dropping the sales price.
Then Furvana came around in September and experiencing that con without a suit was actually some of the most fun I had in my entire life. That experience will always be my first con and I will always remember it as the time I got to have that alternate timeline existence for the very first time with people I know in the community... I came home after that weekend and saw that Sunny was still listed. And I realized in that moment that two things were true (likely). Sunny was the most that a pre-made had ever spoke to me and though he wasn't Nalla, he could be a complimentary extension of Nalla in the best way that no other pre made would likely be able to. In addition to that, the fact that he was still here, still listed, for 8 months was indicating to me tha perhaps this was am oppurtunity I couldn't pass up. So I arranged a financial plan with myself and parents and the rest would be history.
Having Sunny has meant so much to me in many ways I don't think I'd ever expect him to be. He's represents Nalla so well and the amount of joy he gives off is how I want to present myself as well, and I think overtime, he's even helped me accomplish that. Having him at ANW was no doubt special and I'm grateful for all the experiences I got to have with him while there. From meeting friends for the first time, to being a little rave pup, and gettin to perform in the dance comp all culminated into a first suiting con experience I will never forget and will always hold onto. Get Out The Float will be happening soon and I can't wait to detail that in a later post.
Until next time,
